If a fire were to outbreak in your kitchen, do assess the situation and act according.
If the fire is small and manageable:
- Turn off the heat source, if possible
- Cover the source with a lid, if possible
- Else use the fire extinguisher that can be found near your kitchen and remember the following 4 steps:

If your station were to caught on fire and deem uncontrollable, you can activate the fire suppression system in your kitchen.
What should you do if you spotted a fire deem uncontrollable?
- Move away from the source of fire immediately.
- Inform others of the fire and call 995
- Keep calm and run to the nearest emergency exit, according to the fire escape plan
- Close the door after you to contain the fire
- Use wet cloth or towels to cover your nose/mouth and the gap at the bottom of the door
- Do not use the lifts in the building
How to avoid accidentally starting a fire?
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and avoid grease build up including on walls, floors, extraction canopy filters, fryer areas, etc
- Keep flammable materials / objects away from heat sources
- Unplug appliances when not in use to save energy and minimize the risk of fire
- Avoid leaving any fire unattended, ensure that your work space do not have any visible flames.
